Take a look at this 1940s Fort Worth home minutes from Colonial Country Club

You don’t have to be a golf lover to appreciate this Fort Worth estate, though there is one golf-related perk that might pique your interest: The home is just a few minutes from Colonial Country Club. This 9,133-square-foot home was built in 1940 and has an Old World, European feel. The outdoor space of the 1.19-acre property includes a pool, a spa and a cabana with a full kitchen and a fireplace.

Listing agent Ida Duwe-Olsen said the home was taken down to the studs in 2012 and then renovated again in 2021 to update the kitchen and some bathrooms. The home is owned by Fort Worth designer Christina Phillips, who also owns home decor store Park and Eighth.

Duwe-Olsen said that the home has beautiful views but still offers plenty of privacy. She said that this property is unique because it has kept the 1940s structure while many of the older homes in this neighborhood have been replaced by new ones.

“That’s why people love the Colonial area, because of the older architecture,” Duwe-Olsen said.

The home at 2710 Simondale Drive has five bedrooms, five bathrooms and two half-bathrooms. The living spaces are grand, and a great room was added during renovations, Duwe-Olsen said. It has tall, arched ceilings adorned with wood beams and wood paneling along the walls. A wet bar on one end provides storage and countertop space for entertaining. The home also has a wine cellar with storage for 700 bottles. A few steps lead from the great room level to another living space that includes a large dining area and the family room. There is a formal dining area near the front of the house next to the foyer.

The kitchen, which was recently renovated, has white cabinets contrasted by the warm-toned wood accents on the ceiling, the island and around the stove. The same wood beam accents along the ceiling continue into the nearby breakfast room. The first level of the home also includes another sitting room, an office, a bedroom suite and a laundry room. There is a game room on a lower level of the house.

The upstairs primary suite is not simply a bedroom and bathroom. It has a living room with a fireplace and a study. The primary bathroom has two walk-in closets, two sinks and a separate bathtub and shower. There’s another walk-in closet between the primary bedroom and the primary bathroom.

The remaining three bedrooms are on the same level as the primary suite. The property also has an 800-square-foot guest house and a three-car garage.

The home is listed for $7,949,000.
